What are your certifications?First and foremost, I am not a Registered Dietician or Nutritionist. I am not allowed to provide any sort of medical advice, counseling or prescribe meal plans for you to follow. What I am allowed to do is provide you with suggestions, guidance and accountability. I am certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Nutrition Coach as well as a Weightloss specialist and am also certified as a personal trainer.

Are you going to try to sell me shakes or pills?ABSOLUTELY NOT! Social Media these days is filled with MLM's trying to get you to buy this shake or that powder with promises they are the the cure all - they are not. If you actually read into a lot of these programs they often have you eating under 1,000 calories a day (not even enough for a small child) or want you to buy shakes where the first ingredient is sugar. You don't need those things to succeed. The bottom line is you need to eat real food (but not too much) and move your body more. So, I will NEVER sell you anything or allow others in the program to do so.

What do I need to do the program successfully? The main things you need are free - a positive mindset, patience and determination. The paid things you might need? These are not neccessary to be successful, but will for sure help. - A small food scale (the $15 ones on Amazon work great!) - A soft vinyl tape measure (about $5 - but you may have one if you sew!) to take measurements. - A bodyweight scale (or access to one) - A pair of sneakers, comfortable clothes to workout in and a water bottle.
-
Are results guaranteed?NO! If a program guarantees results run away! I do 100% guarantee that I will provide you with the tools needed to succeed and push you to do so. And if you follow the program you WILL see results - but it is ultimately up to you to succeed. You will be the one doing the work, I will be the one provided you with the information and motivation.

How do I keep track of my Macros? There are 2 fantastic apps out there that are so user friendly! 1) MyFitnessPal - there are two versions, a free and a paid. I have never paid for MFP in my life - the free version works great. There are perks to the paid version to make it a little easier and it is about $99 for the year, but no need to purchase that. 2) MyMacros+ - this app is $2.99 to purchase. It is VERY user friendly, but does not have a lot of the tools that MFP has (ie: entering things by weight instead of each). You can pay a very small montly fee to upgrade, but I have never done that and have never felt I needed it. There is also the old fashioned way, pen and paper! That's how I started!

I haven't worked out in forever! Will I be able to do the bootcamps?YES! When I say the bootcamps are designed for everyone I mean it. Whether you have never worked out a day in your life or ran a marathon yesterday, they will work for you. The way they are programmed you will be able to modify it to meet your needs, and I will provide you with all modifcations prior to beginning the workout. This is a ZERO judgement zone and I will ensure that everyone feels completely comfortable - we all want to move more and feel better and thats what we are here to do.
-
Can I just drop in for the bootcamp classes or do I have to do the whole program? If the program fills up then there will be no drop ins allowed. This will allow us to work within the group to build a great group of like minded individuals that can help motivate each other and will allow participants to feel comfortable within the groups. I may possibly open up spots for drop ins for people interested in future programs. Drop ins would be by reservation only pending the amount of sign up for the Summer 2020 group.

I don't want to count macros - but I still want to the accountability, can I participate?"Yes! Macros are the easiest way to go about this program because they are tangible. That said, if you truely do not want to calculate what you eat I will still work with you! If you have a prescribed diet provided by a doctor or nutritionist that you need to adhere to, I can help keep you motivated. I am well versed in Whole30 if you want to try that. I will not assist in things like Keto or Atkins though where you extremely limit one macro group. I personally believe in a well balanced diet.

Can I continue after 8 weeks?Current clients will get the opportunity for first sign up for any continuing programs. As groups must be limited due to Covid-19 restrictions, it will be first come first serve after.

What happens if it rains during bootcamp!?Unless it is thundering and lightening, we will host it! The rec has a covered pavillion we will have access to in heavy rain, but it's summer in Maine - let's get outside and enjoy it while we can :)
-
The bootcamp time doesn't work for me! Will I get a discount?Unfortunatly not. Spaces are limited so hopefully you can work some into your schedule. I will however provide you with the bootcamp workout for you to do on your own if you cannot make it.

Can I bring my kids to bootcamp?I am a mom of 2, so I know it's hard to find time and people to watch kids! I have zero problem with them being there (I take my kids to the gym all the time and honestly they may show up a time or two). As long as they can behave and stay out of the way, bring them - it's great for them to see their parents being active! I suggest bringing a device or activity so they can hang out on the sidelines or under the pavillion. Or, if they are very young they can hang in a stoller next to you. Again I have zero issue with that, but please be mindful of others around you working out and if your children are being too disctracting to others you will be kindly asked to leave them home next time.
